GIF it up for animated email campaigns
Animated gif images are becoming even more popular in email marketing campaigns in the past few years. By using an animated image you not only can show more information to the subscribers but also use these to grab their attention to your product or special offer.
If you aren’t already aware, an animated GIF is a single image file that is broken down into different frames that move in animation when opened in a web browser or email client. Usually these are used for small animations or converted to an animated GIF from a small video clip. You can create you animated GIF using certain image software an control the speed of each frame plays, then have this just end or loop back to the start.
Below is an example of the animated image in the American Eagle Outfitters email campaign I received, really brings your attention to their 70% Sale message.
If the animated image isn’t supported on the device you are using it will just display the first frame if the animation, so make sure the first frame is clearly displaying your product or service.
Why should I use animated gifs?
By using an animated image in your email campaign you not only can show more information to the subscribers but also use these to grab their attention to your product or special offer.
Some clothing companies use these to show the back of an item or the bottom of a shoe, this again can entice the reader to become interested in the product and click through to their website.
